Task Management

Create, assign, and track tasks across your team.

Task Management

The task system in Arbeon helps you organize work, assign it to team members, and track progress. Inspired by tools like Linear, it supports multiple views, custom statuses, labels, priorities, and collaboration features. Whether you manage daily checklists, project work, or ad-hoc requests, tasks give you a flexible way to keep everything visible and moving.

List View

The list view shows tasks in a table with status grouping. Tasks are organized by their status (e.g., Todo, In Progress, Done), making it easy to see what's open and what's completed. You can sort, filter, and browse tasks in a dense, structured format.

Board View

The board view presents tasks in a Kanban layout. Each column represents a status, and tasks appear as cards you can drag between columns. Use this view when you prefer a visual workflow and want to move tasks through stages by dragging and dropping.

Calendar View

The calendar view displays tasks on a calendar based on their due dates. It helps you see deadlines at a glance and plan work across days and weeks. Tasks without due dates do not appear on the calendar.

Custom Statuses and Labels

Admins can define custom statuses (e.g., Backlog, In Review, Blocked) and labels (e.g., Bug, Feature, Urgent) for your organization. Statuses control workflow stages; labels help categorize tasks for filtering and reporting.

Priority Levels

Tasks support four priority levels:

  • Urgent — Highest priority; requires immediate attention.
  • High — Important; should be addressed soon.
  • Medium — Standard priority; normal workflow.
  • Low — Can be deferred when higher-priority work exists.

You can set and change priority when creating or editing a task.

Assignees, Comments, and Subtasks

Each task can have:

  • Assignees — One or more team members responsible for the work.
  • Comments — Discussion threads for updates, questions, and context.
  • Subtasks — Smaller checklist items within a task for breaking down work.

Task Detail Drawer

Clicking a task opens a detail drawer (or panel) on the side. From there you can view and edit the full description, change status or priority, add comments, manage subtasks, and update assignees and labels.
